Student Life

Life at NOCO

We believe in doing things differently—with intention, with passion, and with students at the center of it all. Every detail here reflects that mindset.

Student Life

Campus

Located in the heart of downtown Norwalk, The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts offers students an urban campus experience with easy access to restaurants, cafés, shops, parks, and the waterfront. Students are also just minutes from the East Norwalk Train Station, providing direct access to New York City and Grand Central Terminal.

Classes take place across five campus buildings — The Flagship, The Underground, GCA, The View, and The Spot — all equipped with secure key card access and fully compliant with local, state, and federal safety regulations.

First-year students live in Aspen Hall on East Avenue, while second-year students reside in Blackwood Hall, both within walking distance of campus. Our residence halls offer kitchens, recreational spaces, parking, and beautiful riverside surroundings.

We've also partnered with several local restaurants to provide exclusive discounts for students and families.

The Dorms

Aspen Hall

Aspen Hall is home to our first-year students and is designed to provide a welcoming, supportive environment as they begin their college experience. Located just a short walk from campus, students enjoy the independence of residential living while remaining close to classes, rehearsals, performances, and campus events.

The walk to campus follows the scenic Norwalk River, offering a safe, pleasant route that quickly becomes part of daily life. A Resident Advisor (RA) lives on-site, providing guidance, support, and helping to foster a friendly, inclusive community throughout the year.

With comfortable accommodations, a close-knit residential atmosphere, and staff support always nearby, Aspen Hall gives first-year students the opportunity to build lasting friendships, develop independence, and feel at home from the moment they arrive.

Blackwood Hall

Blackwood Hall is home to our second-year students, offering greater independence while remaining part of the close-knit NOCO community. Located on a quiet, safe residential street just a short walk from campus, students have easy access to classes, rehearsals, performances, and all of the Conservatory's facilities.

The residence features spacious bedrooms and generous shared recreational spaces where students can relax, study, and spend time together outside of class. Just next door is one of Norwalk's favorite local coffee shops, making it the perfect place to grab breakfast, meet friends, or study between classes.

By second year, Blackwood Hall provides the ideal balance of independence, community, and convenience, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in conservatory life while enjoying a comfortable place to call home.

Academic Support

Registrar

The Office of the Registrar supports students throughout their academic journey at NOCO. From course registration and transcripts to enrollment verification, academic records, and graduation requirements, the Registrar serves as a central resource for all official academic matters.

Students are encouraged to contact the Registrar with questions regarding schedules, policies, forms, degree progress, and other administrative processes related to their studies.
